New York Schools Choose 系综 for Media Sharing and Delivery

Colleges and universities are looking for ways to maximize growing collections of digital media, while also containing costs. Collaboration across campuses is one way to achieve both goals.

Schools in New York state will have the opportunity to manage, 分享, and serve video with the adoption of the 系综 Video Platform. 在单独的交易中, the State University of New York (SUNY) and the New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium (NY6) have purchased 系综 to provide core video streaming infrastructure to member schools.

纽约州立大学, the system's Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC) will offer 系综 to 64 member campuses. The NY6 schools will take advantage of a private cloud implementation managed by 系综. Member colleges like Colgate and Skidmore will then have a local Wowza Media Server on campus. "It will provide a framework for a wide range of multi-campus activities in the coming years,” said Amy Doonan Cronin, executive directory of the NY6.

With universities like MIT and Stanford using online video to expand their reach, and with technology and platform vendors investing serious dollars into the educational market, 2012 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for video in schools.
